Creating Presence in Chaos
Creating Presence and Balance in Chaos
Life is not always smooth. There are outside influences that create chaos and pull us out of alignment. When the collective energy is focused on big events, it can be hard to tell what we’re really feeling. That’s when doubt and fear creep in, and our old patterns and negative beliefs get louder than our authentic presence.
When we get too caught up in the outside world, it becomes harder to grow our inner world. In times like this, it’s important to stay grounded and true to ourselves. And yes, it can feel difficult, even scary. It might feel easier to go with what’s comfortable, even if it goes against our authenticity. It’s human to want to belong but at what cost?
This does not mean we ignore what is going on. It means we don’t let it consume or define us. We can acknowledge what’s happening in the world while still staying rooted in who we are. Presence is about noticing without losing ourselves, holding awareness of the outside while staying connected to our inside.
This balance takes practice. The outside world will always pull at us it’s loud, it’s urgent, and it demands attention. But our inner world whispers. If we don’t make space for it, we can’t hear it. And when we can’t hear it, we start living from reaction instead of alignment.
So the work is not about shutting the world out, but about strengthening the connection to ourselves so we can move through chaos without losing our center. When we choose presence, we create a space inside where clarity, truth, and balance can live even when everything outside feels messy.
Simple ways to stay aligned with yourself
Pause and breathe.
When everything feels loud, the first thing I do is stop and take a few slow breaths. It sounds simple, but that moment of pausing pulls me back into myself. I’ll often put my hand on my chest or stomach as I breathe to remind myself, I’m here, I’m safe, this is mine.Limit input.
There are times when I notice I’m scrolling too much or watching the news and suddenly I feel anxious without even knowing why. That’s when I know I need to pull back. Unplugging doesn’t mean I don’t care it means I’m protecting my energy so I can come back to myself before letting the outside world back in.Check in with your body.
For me, this is huge. If I’m spinning in my head, I’ll pause and ask: Where do I feel this in my body? Sometimes it’s tightness in my chest, or heaviness in my stomach. Naming it and sitting with it helps me figure out if it’s really mine or if I’ve picked up on the collective energy around me.Ground in nature.
Nature never fails me. I’ll walk barefoot in the grass, sit with my dog under a tree, or even just step outside and feel the sun on my skin. It brings me back to the present moment in a way nothing else can. Nature reminds me of the bigger rhythm of life, and that I don’t have to hold everything. There was a day not long ago when I caught myself stuck in the news, scrolling and feeling heavier by the minute. My chest felt tight, and I knew it wasn’t even all mine I was carrying the weight of everything I was reading. I finally set my phone down and walked outside barefoot. The ground was cool, the air softer than I expected, and within a few minutes my whole body felt lighter. Nothing outside had changed, but I had shifted. That’s the power nature gives us an instant reminder that presence lives here, now.
At the end of the day, chaos isn’t going anywhere. The outside world will always have something pulling for our attention. But we get to decide if we’re going to live from that place or from within ourselves. It’s not about being perfect or always calm it’s about noticing when we’ve slipped out of alignment and choosing to come back.
You don’t have to do all the practices at once. Just pick one thing maybe a breath, maybe a walk outside, maybe writing a few words in a journal and let that bring you back to you. Presence is built in small moments, and those small moments are what keep us steady when everything else feels like it’s spinning.
This week, try one practice that helps you feel most like yourself and notice how it shifts your energy.
